Caton Manifesto X Toyota Phase 2

Phase 2 of our recent Toyota collaboration in the Middle East saw Anthony Caton of Caton Manifesto been flown in to host automotive and lifestyle media in the House of Avalon launch event, at Dubai’s Majestic Bvlgari resorts.

The Avalon is Toyota’s highest spec luxury vehicle so no expenses were spared in the staging of the launch.

During the event week, Anthony promoted the stylistic elements of the vehicle in the House of Avalon and spoke at length about his design philosophy and how the different components transferred to the design elements of the Toyota Avalon.

Anthony said, “When I’m designing an item I take the different areas into account that I wish to draw the eyes towards, and one such such method is utilising lines and curves. Looking at one of my Philosopher jackets you will see the plunging asymmetric neckline which draws the eye to the centre of the body, promoting elongation of the figure. The curved element that you will see on the side-seams of the garment give the wearer shape and promote elegance and form. The Avalon was also imagined utilising lines and curves, which draw your eyes to key areas of the car, forming its identity.”

With the interior of the Toyota Avalon being a key component of the Toyota Avalon identity, Naresh Kumar, Leather craftsman and Creative Director at 24th Street based in Dubai, was drafted in to discuss his design approaches, craftsmanship and his intimate relationships with luxurious animals skins.

Stefano Bollinger, head creative and Jeweller at Deseneros demonstrated his craft and broke down how he bends and shapes metal and how this related to the distinctive front grill of the Toyota Avalon.

To coincide with the launch Anthony created 40 limited edition silk accessories, inspired by the abstract lines and features of the Avalon.
